It looks like the future of electronics lies in wearable gadgets as we are seeing more and more emerging on daily basis. Now a new kind of wearable gadgets has surfaced called the LifeBEAM SMART helmet, which is a helmet that can be wore on the head while riding a bicycle.
What’s so special about the LifeBEAM SMART helmet is that it is not just a helmet but a heart monitor device as well which measures the heart rate of the cyclists and transmits it to their person’s smartphone or smartwatch. It also stores the data so that the user could extract it by connected the helmet to his computer using the USB cable. The LifeBEAM SMART helmet features Bluetooth connectivity for connecting with devices to transmit data as well as rechargeable battery that can run up to 15 hours on a single charge. It also features a built-in accelerometer.
While the current model of LifeBEAM SMART helmet reads heart rate the future versions are said to be more advanced and feature bicycle locator, GPS, heads up display and most importantly crash detection alerts. The company behind this awesome helmet is currently seeking funding at Indiegogo website. It is available for pre-order at a price of $149.
What’s great about the LifeBEAM SMART helmet is that not only it allows users especially heart patients to monitor their heart rates while riding bicycle but it also protects the user at the same time. Due to its ordinary looking design it would fit with the cyclist’s suit and won’t look odd. This is a project we would like to get funded successfully.
