Scandock is a scanner of the post PC era that allows users to scan any document or picture without the need of a computer. It features a dock that holds the smartphone at the right spot and takes the scan using device’s camera. The scanner supports iPhone and all Android smartphones and has dedicated applications available for both platforms.
Although applications that enabled users to take scans from their smartphones have been available for a while the Scandock follows a different approach and provides a picture that is match-able with traditional scanners. Also Scandock is made for home and office use only and is not portable enough for on the go uses. It features lights that are engineered to illuminate the document so every part of it appears rightly in the scanner while not forming any light holes on shinny materials.
The official app is quite powerful and allows users to do several tasks with the scanned image right from their smartphone. They can email, edit, and save the scanned images. Users can also print the scanned images using the using the native application with Air Print feature of iOS.
